Fine Art Prints

We offer two options, unframed or framed. Prints are made at Awagami Factory on Shikoku Island on either Awagami handmade Bizan or Bamboo washi paper. You may order unframed or have us take care of framing for you at a master framer right here in Japan, who embodies the pinnacle of local craftsmanship.

Your artwork is professionally printed on handmade Japanese washi paper made by the highly regarded Awagami Factory in Tokushima, Japan. In 1976, Awagami washi was designated as a ‘Traditional Craft Industry’ and in 1986, 6th generation Minoru Fujimori was honored as a Master Craftsman and awarded the ‘Sixth Class Order of Merit, Sacred Treasure’ by the Emperor himself.

Awagami has dedicated generations to perfecting the art of washi paper-making and is both rooted in preserving and evolving this Japanese handcraft, ensuring that each sheet produced carries with it a legacy of artistic dedication and awareness of our environment.

The creation of natural washi paper involves meticulous traditional methods which carefully builds strong, thin, and semi-translucent sheets layer by layer from natural fibers. This precise process, passed down through generations, ensures that each print embodies the handcraft and artistry of Japanese papermaking while giving the artwork a texture and depth that resembles a painting, making each piece a singular work of art.

Framing is undertaken by a second-generation master framer in Osaka whose exceptional work is regularly showcased in the highest-level galleries and museums across the country, ensuring your artwork is presented with the utmost care and expertise. The framing technique we use floats the artwork off the mat which highlights the beautiful deckled edge of the Bizan washi paper.
